The Western Distributor Project
The Victorian Government and Transurban are partnering to build the $5.5 billion Western Distributor Project, which includes the Western Distributor, the Monash Freeway Upgrade and access improvements for Webb Dock
Local residents and cycling groups have helped shaped almost 10 kilometres of new and improved cycling and pedestrian paths.
The Western Distributor is entering the next phase with the release of an updated design.
Major works to add an additional lane (inbound) and build new overhead signage structures on the West Gate Freeway as part of the Webb Dock Access improvements are well underway.
6000 trucks off local streets
Daily peak time travel times slashed by up to 20 minutes
5,600 new jobs created at the peak of construction
$11 billion boost to the Victorian economy
Current travel time will be halved for trucks traveling into the Port of Melbourne
